The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune [NCRA] of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research [TIFR] (an autonomous institute under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India) is an internationally reputed research institute. NCRA–TIFR is located inside the Pune University Campus. Facilities operated by NCRA-TIFR include, the Ooty Radio Telescope (ORT) and the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). Located about 80 KM north of Pune, GMRT is the world’s largest radio telescope at metre wavelengths. NCRA is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:
1. Technical Assistant-B (Civil) [1 Post; UR; HQ: Pune*] Click here to apply online.

Minimum Qualification: (a)SSC/HSC (b) Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% marks. (c) Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications and familiar with AutoCAD software.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years field experience in supervising building and civil/structural construction and maintenance works. Should be familiar with tendering procedure, maintenance of work records, preparation of bills, etc. Knowledge of works procedure (PWD/CPWD/MES) will be an added advantage.
Nature of Job: Maintenance of office and residential buildings, antenna towers, routine preventive maintenance and rectifications of roads, buildings and plumbing problems with help of civil team.
Age: 28 years and below.

Minimum Qualification: (a) B.Sc. (Physics / Electronics) / Diploma in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical and Electronics) with minimum 60% marks. (b) Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
Nature of job: Initial training in electronics/electrical, computer systems and operation of radio telescopes as Trainee for 1 year. Bond is to be executed before joining to serve NCRA for at least 3 years after successful completion of training.

Minimum Experience: 5 years experience in Accounts in a large and reputed organisation. Experience in handling Cash and Audit related work.
Desirable: Experience in preparing of various Audit Schedules, Receipt & Payment account, Balance Sheet. Master in handling of computers.

Minimum Qualification: (a) S.S.C. or Equivalent (b) Valid license for driving heavy motor vehicles.
Minimum Experience: 3 years of accident-free experience of driving heavy motor vehicles in large cities/highways.
Desirable: (a) Preliminary/primary knowledge of vehicle inspection, troubleshooting and minor repairs. (b) Bus batch
Physical Fitness : Height 165 cm. (b)Weight corresponding to height and age as per medical standards. (c) Chest 80-85 cm. (d) Normal eyesight and colour recognition (free from colour blindness).
Running Fitness Male Candidates. 100 meters in 16 seconds and 1.6 km in 6.50 mins for running test conducted on smooth and straight running tracks.
Running Fitness Female Candidates.100 meters in 18 seconds and 1.6 km in 8.50 mins for running tests conducted on smooth and straight running tracks
Age relaxation is as per rules. (Relaxation in Physical Fitness to women/members of some communities as per extant GOI rules. Incumbent will work in shift duties with staggering offs.

(2) Candidates will be required to work in shifts/ beyond office hours and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as per the exigencies of the Centre. (3) Candidates with BE/B.Tech. or higher technical degrees will be over qualified and will not be considered for the posts at Sr. Nos.1 & 2 and candidates with Diploma, BE/B.Tech. or higher technical degrees will not be considered for the posts at Sr. Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7. (4) SC, ST and OBC certificate (wherever applicable) in the Government of India format.
