The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune [NCRA] of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research [TIFR] (an autonomous institute under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India) is an internationally reputed research institute.  NCRA–TIFR is located inside the Pune University Campus.  Facilities operated by NCRA-TIFR include, the Ooty Radio Telescope (ORT) and the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). Located about 80 KM north of Pune, GMRT is the world’s largest radio telescope at metre wavelengths. NCRA is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:

Minimum Qualification: ME/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Minimum Experience: 2-3 years experience as Electrical Engineer in reputed Research Laboratories/Universities/Institutes of Higher Education of Government or Semi-Government or reputed private institutes or industries.
Desirable: Good knowledge & experience of project planning, installation and operation,; maintenance of 33 KV/11 KV and MV Electrical distribution systems, building electrification, diesel generators, solar plant, etc. and all types of Air-conditioning systems, UPS systems, EPABX systems,; familiar with CPWD Manual, National Building Code, BIS standards and codes of practice.
Nature of Job: (i) Primary responsibility will be planning maintenance of electrical HT & LT installations/Sub-stations and Diesel Generators, Central Air-Conditioner Plant, Packaged, Room air-conditioners, Auditorium lighting and Audio Video system, different types of UPS systems, EPABX systems, stabilizers.   (ii) Monitor service contracts for Lifts, Central/Package/Room Air-conditioners, Diesel Generators, UPS systems including batteries, Audio & Video systems, EPABX systems and similar aspects by awarding contracts and their timely renewal for maintaining efficient and effective uninterrupted service. (iii) Liaison with local electricity authority/statutory bodies/Corporation.

Minimum Qualification: BE/B.Tech Degree in Electronics Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years in Digital Electronics, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Programming in C, PCB designing, experience in handling MSO & DSO.
Desirable: Familiar with various sensors and transducers is desirable, especially for smoke, fire, temperature, etc.
Nature of Job: Design, development, installation, commissioning and maintenance of the Telemetry and Sentinel System.

Minimum Experience : 1-2 years in Analog/Digital electronics / Radio Frequency systems in a large and reputed organization.
Desirable : Experience in design, development and operations of Analog & Digital signal processing circuits, computer programming and familiarity with FPGA based design.
Nature of Job: Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance/upkeep of Receiver Backend systems.

Minimum Qualification: Candidate must have a BE/B.Tech degree in Computer Science or related field with minimum 60% marks from a recognised university.    
Minimum Experience 3 years of  (1) Good knowledge in Linux and Windows OS installation, configuration and administration (2) Good knowledge of Ethernet networking and LAN maintenance (3) Good communication skill to address and manage large computer users’ day to day activities and resolving their issues.
Desirable: (1) Installing, configuring and maintaining DNS , LDAP servers (2) Backup and restore of users’ files in Linux and Windows environment (3) Knowledge in e-mail system  configuration and maintenance.

Minimum Qualification: BE/B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognised university.    
Minimum Experience : 1-2 years in large structural fabrication and its erection, installation of gear boxes and coupling alignments, Hydraulic equipment maintenance, etc.
Desirable: Knowledge of sheet metal/pipe developments and welding will be an added advantage.
Nature of Job: To understand, guide and execute the works on our Radio Telescope and in workshop activities from the Technical staff.
Age: 28 years and below.

Note : (1) HQ mentioned is for present location.  All the above posts are transferable within NCRA campuses i.e. Pune, Khodad & Ooty. (2) Candidates will be required to work in shifts/ beyond office hours and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as per the exigencies of the Centre.  (3) SC, ST and OBC certificate (wherever applicable) in the Government of India format. OBC candidates should submit a valid copy of the Non-creamy Layer certificate issued by competent authority in the Government of India format. The OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in GOI format should be preferably for the current financial year on the date of closing of application or utmost not earlier than one year from the date of closing of application.

Minimum Experience: Post qualification experience in the relevant field.
