Biography:

Sonalika Purkayastha obtained her B.Sc. from Miranda House, University of Delhi, in 2017. She worked as an Undergraduate Associate (UGA) at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, for two summers (2015 and 2016) where she did two projects: "Building a Superheated Droplet Detector and studying its use as a Dark Matter detector" and "Preparing a Langmuir-Blodgett film of DMPC lipid and studying its properties using GIXR technique". After graduation, she joined NCRA-TIFR as an Integrated Ph.D. student in July 2017. She is currently doing coursework in the IUCAA-NCRA Graduate School.
