The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune [NCRA] of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research [TIFR] (an autonomous Institute of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India) is an internationally reputed research institute. NCRA-TIFR has set up two radio telescopes, viz. the Ooty Radio Telescope (ORT) in Ooty, Tamilnadu and the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) in Khodad. The ORT is run by the Radio Astronomy Centre (RAC), Ooty. NCRA-TIFR is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following positions at its Radio Astronomy Centre at Ooty.

1. Engineer Trainee (Electronics) [2 Posts; UR; HQ: Ooty]     Click here to apply online

[Stipend: 25,000/- p.m.; Tenure: Initial 1 year to be extended by one year (Max. 2 years, subject to satisfactory performance). No absorption after training.
Minimum Qualification: BE/B.Tech (Electronics) with minimum 60% marks from a recognised university. 
Areas of Training: Digital/Analog/RF/Servo Electronics related systems. 
Age: Below 28 years.

2. Technical Trainee (Electrical) [1 Post; UR, HQ: Ooty] Click here to apply online

[Stipend: 16,000/- p.m.; Tenure: Initial 1 year to be extended by one year (Max. 2 years, subject to satisfactory performance). No absorption after training.
Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognised university and valid Tamilnadu State Electrical License. 
Nature of Training: 22 KVA/Diesel Generator/UPS Electrical related systems and Ooty Radio Telescope Electrical control systems. 
Age: 28 years.

3. Technical Trainee (Civil) [1 Post; UR, HQ: Ooty]     Click here to apply online

[Stipend: 16,000/- p.m.; Tenure: Initial 1 year to be extended by one year (Max. 2 years, subject to satisfactory performance). No absorption after training.
Minimum Qualification: (a) 10th or Higher Secondary (b) Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognised university.
Nature of Training: Estimation and supervision of civil works.
Age: 28 years.

4. Administrative Trainee [2 Posts, UR, HQ: Ooty] Click here to apply online

Stipend: 15000/-; Tenure: 1 year. No absorption after training.
Minimum Qualification: (1) Graduate from a recognized university (2) Knowledge of typing and use of personal computers and applications.
Nature of Training: Training in the area of Accounts, General Administration, HR and Purchase.
Desired: Fluency in spoken and written English.
Age: Below 28 years.
Note: Candidates with Diploma, BE/B.Tech. or higher technical degrees will not be considered for this post.

Note: Candidates with BE/B.Tech or higher technical degrees will not be considered for Technical Trainee posts. HQ mentioned is for present location. All the above posts are transferable within NCRA campuses i.e. Pune and Khodad.
