Walk-in-interview for the post Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Applicants are invited for a Walk-in-Interview for one position of Senior Research Fellow to work on a DST-SERB sponsored Research Project entitled "Pulsar Monitoring observations program with the upgraded Ooty Radio Telescope" [Project No.  EMR/2015/000515]. The project will be implemented in Radio Astronomy Centre (RAC), Ooty.

The position is temporary and is available initially for one year and extendable upto 3 years or till the end of the project. The extension beyond the first year is solely based on performance of the candidate.

Number of Positions: 1 (SRF)

Fellowship: Rs. 28,000/- (As per DST, Govt. of India Rules and Regulation.)

Essential Qualification: Master of Science in Physics/ Astronomy with minimum 65% marks from a recognized University. The applicant must show evidence of at least ONE published research paper in international astronomy/ physics research journal of repute OR NET/ SET/ GATE qualification.

Desirable Qualification: Research Experience in radio pulsar astronomy.

Experience: At least, two years of relevant previous research experience in radio astronomy is essential.

Time of interview: 12:00 Noon.
The candidates are requested to reach the venue by 11.00 am.
