The GMRT Software Backend

The GMRT Software Backend (GSB) is available on a regular basis for use alongside the hardware correlator. GSB provides the same observing modes that have been enabled on the hardware correlator. The interferometric GSB raw data (recorded in the lta format) has to be converted into FITS format using special programmes. Till these programmes are available on the same platform as those for the hardware correlator, we request the users to consult the telescope operators before they leave GMRT. The telescope operators will help convert their GSB raw data into FITS format which they can then carry with them.
