The Workshop

A workshop on Galaxies and Cosmology will be held at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (NCRA-TIFR), Pune during the period of July 7 - 18, 2014. The workshop is open to Ph.D. students and young postdoctoral fellows and the aim is to introduce the participants to current research in the field of galaxies. The workshop will be divided into two sections. The first section will consist of pedagogical lectures on a wide range of topics by eminent researchers from the country. The second section will consist of several seminars aimed at exposing the participants to the range of research being conducted in the country.

Students interested in attending the Workshop should send us an application (preferably by e-mail, at the address given below) stating their name, affiliation, postal and e-mail addresses and a brief CV, before April 15, 2014. Ph.D. students should also arrange for a letter of recommendation from their supervisors to be sent to us before the deadline. The selected students will be informed by May 7, 2014. Free boarding and lodging will be arranged for all the students selected to attend the school. We will also be able to provide second class train fare to all outstation student participants.
