Sonalika Purkayastha obtained her B.Sc. from Miranda House, University of Delhi, in 2017. She worked as an Undergraduate Associate (UGA) at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, for two summers (2015 and 2016) where she did two projects: "Building a Superheated Droplet Detector and studying its use as a Dark Matter detector" and "Preparing a Langmuir-Blodgett film of DMPC lipid and studying its properties using GIXR technique". After graduation, she joined NCRA-TIFR as an Integrated Ph.D. student. She is currently doing her first year of course work at the Physics Department of the Savitribai Phule Pune University.
