Diffstop released for correcting small time errors
January 2009
The diffstop program is meant to make differential fringe stop calculations. For example, one can correct for the differential fringe rate caused by an error in time. The usage is:
diffstop -i ltafile -t TimeError (s)
The output is a differential fringe corrected ltafile, which can be processed as usual.
In particular, for GMRT data taken since 1 January 2009, we advice users to run diffstop setting TimeError = 2 seconds (+2) which results in a noticeable improvement in the phase stability.
