Biography:
Sourabh Paul obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) in Physics from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, in 2008, and his M.Sc. in Applied Physics from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, in 2010. He then moved to the Raman Research Institute, Bangalore, for his doctoral studies, obtaining his Ph.D. in 2016. He joined NCRA-TIFR as a Visiting Fellow in August 2017.
Research Description:
My research topic is the study of the redshifted neutral hydrogen (HI) from the Epoch of Reionization. I have been involved with the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) EoR experiment. Theprime focus of my research has been the extraction of the cosmological HI 21cm EoR power spectra from radio interferometric observations through statistical analysis, and studing the interplay between noise and foregrounds in EoR experiments through simulations as well as real data. In addition, I also have experience in widefield imaging from radio interferometric data. My otherresearch interests are CMB-HI cross-correlation, bispectrum studies, etc.
