History

Hampi served as the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire from 14th to 16th centuries. The ruins today tell tales of the grandeur of what was once one of the richest and largest cities in the world during its prime.

Travel Tip: The best time to visit Hampi is during the winter months (October to February) when the weather is pleasant. Early mornings and late afternoons offer the best lighting for photography.
