Computing

NCRA has excellent computing facilities. Every student and postdoctoral fellow gets a high-end workstation for their individual research computing needs. In addition, there are common computing facilities consisting of high-spec workstations and servers with graphics acceleration (GPUs) and high-capacity storage. The hostel rooms also get a LAN ethernet port each to allow students to connect to the campus network from their laptops.

Students and postdocs also get a contingency grant which can be used individually to augment their computing needs, e.g. for purchase of storage disks and other gadgets.

Similarly, GMRT has the computing resources available for processing and analysing data collected from observations, in addition to those available in NCRA.
