 Release of "Govind Swarup : Memories and Tributes"

It was one year ago this week that we lost Prof. Govind Swarup from our midst.  When we organised a memorial function a few weeks after his passing, we received an overwhelming response from all over the world : messages from more than 140 people, wanting to convey their regards and condolences, recall his contributions and achievements as well as their own personal associations with  him.  Due to constraints of time, we could accommodate only about  60 contributions during the online event memorial held on  7th October 2020.

We have now compiled all the messages and responses received, into a book of memories and tributes, which is being released this week  to mark one year of his passing.

We hope that this compilation will serve as a fitting tribute to the  life and achievements of Govind Swarup, as well as to his warm and  influential personality, as captured in the views and voices of several individuals who had the good fortune to interact with him
for some part of the journey of life. 
 
Compilation of this memorial book would not have been possible without the active help and support of several members of the NCRA family.  In particular, Shilkumar Meshram and Divya Oberoi  have put in a stellar effort, along with inputs from other colleagues : Jayaram Chengalur, Yogesh Wadadekar, Dharam Vir Lal, V.
