Survey of COmpact sources for Pulsars and Exotic objects (SCOPE)

A targeted all-sky pulsar survey, Survey of COmpact sources for Pulsars and Exotic objects (SCOPE), is currently being conducted using the upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) and the Green Bank Telescope (GBT). In the first stage of the survey, all the compact sources which are visible at 147.5 MHz in the TIFR GMRT Sky Survey (TGSS) but not at the higher radio frequencies, such as in the rapid ASKAP continuum survey (RACS) or in the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS), and have spectral indices steeper than -1.8, are being targeted. In the GMRT SCOPE (GM-SCOPE) survey, each target is observed twice, at two different epochs, and at band-3 (300-500 MHz) as well as band-4 (550-750 MHz). In the GBT SCOPE (GB-SCOPE) survey, a similar subset of sources is observed using the 820 MHz band.
