A Himalayan sojourn

I have just returned from a trek to the Valley of Flowers National Park in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, the Himalayas. I hope to write a travelogue eftsoons and right-speedily, peppering it, of course, with some photographs. Watch this space...

What I do

GMRT

I am presently working on an algorithm for improving the temperature calibration and associated experiments in the Front-End Lab at GMRT. I am also interested in Signal Processing; I worked on some filtering algorithms to excise RFI from pulsar time-series data.This is a write-up of what I presented in URSI GA 2005 in New Delhi.

Nowadays, I think about some signal processing for the upcoming GSB. Infact, I have been involved in developing a new high spectral resolution mode for the Software Correlator.

Research

I am presently working on extragalactic absorption systems, mainly looking for molecules. In a more general sense, I'm interested in ISM physics and of late, have been thinking about the Galaxy as well. More to come...
