About Pune: Pune (180 31' N, 73 deg. 51' E), is a Plateau-city situated near the western side of the Deccan plateau. It is nearly 160 kms south-east of Mumbai (Mumbai was earlier known as Bombay), by road. Pune is situated at a height of about 560m above the mean sea level. The city is surrounded by hills on the east and the south. Pune is well connected by air, rail and road to Mumbai, which is the nearest international airport. It is also connected by air to Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai with flights operating every day. Climate in Pune: Pune is situated at an altitude of 559m.(1863 ft.). The temperature is moderatei here. Summer in Pune: Summer here begins from early March to June. The temperature ranges from 38 deg.C to 20 deg.C. Monsoon in Pune: Pune has a pretty good three months` of rains from July-August to October. Temperature ranges from 17/18 degrees to 30 degrees. Winter in Pune: Winter in Pune starts from November to January . Light woollens clothes are good during the day but early mornings, evenings and night times one requires more warm clothing as its quite chilly.
