Programme Update:

This international conference will discuss computationally intensive techniques and new software approaches that are important for different branches of observational astronomy. Requirements for future large instruments including the Square Kilometre Array radio telescope, Giant Segmented Mirror optical telescopes, the ASTROSAT mission and several others will be addressed in depth. Participation by both academia and industry is planned. See PROGRAMME

The conference is being organised jointly by the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy abd Astrophysics (IUCAA) and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC).

Venue:  The scientific sessions of the meeting will be held in lecture hall Bhaskara 3 and the Chandrasekhar Auditorium of  IUCAA, in Pune University campus (Google Map).  

Pune is located in Western India, about 180 km away from Mumbai, which hosts the nearest major International Airport.
Participants travelling to India from overseas please make sure to obtain your visa from your nearest Indian consulate before starting your journey.

Arrival in Pune: International travellers are advised to arrive in the Mumbai International Airport.  The preferred mode of travel to Pune from there is a 4-hour car ride, which the meeting LOC can arrange on request.  The cost is about USD 60 one way.

A small number of flights also operate between Mumbai and Pune. The flight duration is about 30 minutes. The LOC will arrange pick-up for international travellers arriving at Pune Airport.  Please inform us of your itinerary.

Domestic travellers arriving at either Pune airport or Pune Jn railway station are requested to avail of either a pre-paid taxi or an autorickshaw to IUCAA, located in Pune University campus, Ganeshkhind.

Accommodation: The LOC has made confirmed bookings for all participants who have paid their registration fees and have requested accommodation. Please see the list of bookings displayed. Please contact the LOC if you require help with reserving your accommodation.
