NCRA-TIFR has set up and operates the world's largest radio telescope at metre wavelengths, the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). GMRT is located at Khodad, near Narayangaon, about 80 km north of Pune. For details visit http://www.ncra.tifr.res.in. NCRA is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following positions: 1. Scientific Assistant-B (Trainee) [1 UR; 1 ST PWD (HH); HQ: Khodad]. Stipend: 6500 pm. EQ: BSc. (Physics / Electronics) / BCS with more than 60% marks in aggregate. Nature of job: Initial training in electronics, computer systems and operation of radio telescopes as Trainee for 1 year. Bond to be executed before joining to serve NCRA for at least 3 years after successful completion of training. Successful training will lead to absorption, on probation, as Scientific Assistant in PB-2: 9300-34800 (GP: 4200) [TME: Rs.18796]. Age: 23 for UR, 38 for ST PWD (HH) Hearing loss of 90 db or more. 2. Technical Assistant-B [1 UR; HQ: Khodad] [TME: Rs.18796: Pay: 9300 (in PB-2 9300-34800) GP: Rs.4200]. EQ: Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Exp.: 1-2 years in HT/ LT electrical installations and having supervisory license to operate 11KV high voltage electrical equipment. Age: 25 years. 3. Laboratory Assistant-B [1 OBC, 1 UR; HQ: Khodad] [TME: 11655: (Pay: 6460 in PB-1: 5200-20200; GP: 2000)]. EQ: ITI (Electronics or Power Electronics) with NCTVT. Exp: 1-2 years in a reputed electronics industry. Age: OBC: 28 years / UR: 25. 4. Laboratory Assistant-B [1 UR; HQ: Khodad] [TME: 11655: (Pay: 6460 in PB-1: 5200-20200; GP: 2000)]. EQ: ITI (Mechanial Draftsman) with NCTVT. Exp.: 1-2 years CAD-CAM related work in a reputed organisation. Age: 25 years. 5. Tradesman-B [1 UR; HQ: Khodad] [TME: 11655: (Pay: 6460 in PB-1: 5200-20200; GP: 2000)]. EQ: ITI (Machinist) with NCTVT. Exp: 1-2 years in a workshop of a reputed industry. Age: 25 years. 6. Tradesman-B [1 OBC, HQ: Pune] [TME: 12501: (Pay: 6460 in PB-1: 5200-20200; GP: 2000)]. EQ: ITI (Machinist) with NCTVT. Exp: 1-2 years in a workshop of a reputed industry. Age: 28 years. 7. Tradesman-B [1 UR; HQ: Pune]. [TME: 12501: (Pay: 6460 in PB-1: 5200-20200; GP: 2000)]. EQ: ITI (Electrical), NCTVT & 'B' license for LT works issued by Govt. Maharashtra. Age: 25 years. 8. Technical Trainees: 2 Posts. Tenure: 2 years. HQ: Khodad. Stipend: 6500/- PM. EQ: First Class DERE or DIE. Training Areas: Support in development and maintenance of analog, digital and servo systems, data logging and documentation. No absorption after training. Age: 25 years. 9. Clerk [1 ST; HQ: Pune] [TME: 11708: (Pay: 5830 in PB-1: 5200-20200; GP: 1900)]. EQ: B.Com with advanced accountancy and auditing. Computer literacy is a must. Exp: 1-2 years in the area of maintenance of accounts, cash book, handling of cash, etc. Age: 33 years. 10. Administrative Trainee: [3 HQ: 2 Pune; 1Khodad]. Stipend: 6500. EQ: Graduate from a recognised university. Training of one year in the area of Accounts, Gen Admn and HR. No absorption after training. Candidate should have exposure to computers. Age: 25 years. General: Candidates applying for posts reserved for OBC should attach a copy of caste certificate along with non-creamy layer certificate issued by the competent authority. Copies of all certificates should be duly attested. Candidates are liable to be transferred to other Centres/Field Stations of the Institute. SC/ST candidates attending the test and interview will be reimbursed 2nd class (non-AC) train fare. Age relaxation as per GOI rules applies to SC / ST / OBC / PH candidates applying for UR posts. Conditions will be relaxed for deserving candidates. TME: Total Monthly Emoluments, reflects Pay+GP+DA (presently 22%), HRA and Transport Allowance payable at appropriate rates. PB: Pay Band.
