The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune [NCRA] of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research [TIFR] (an autonomous institute under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India) is an internationally reputed research institute. NCRA-TIFR has set up two radio telescopes, viz., the Ooty Radio Telescope (ORT) and the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). Located about 80 KM north of Pune, GMRT is the world's largest radio telescope at metre wavelengths. NCRA is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

Exp: (1) Administration of open source database servers such as Postgres and MySQL running on Linux as well as with database design. Extensive knowledge of SQL is required. (2) Basic system administration of server class Linux-based operating systems such as Cent OS and Redhat Enterprise Linux. (3) programming client-side web applications in Java and  JavaScript to generate dynamic web-pages through interaction with a database server. (4) Configuring and running application servers such as Glassfish for the Java EE platform

General: Age is inclusive of relaxation to SC, ST and OBC candidates, wherever applicable. Age will be reckoned as on 1st July 2011. Candidates are liable to be transferred to other Centres / Field Stations of the Institute.
