Things to
remember:
- Contact information: My office room no is 222, and the extension no is 9245. Feel free to drop by.
You can also reach me at div@ncra.tifr.res.in.
- Course lectures and any other information/updates/news about the course will be put up at
http://www.ncra.tifr.res.in/~div/Teaching/Astro-techII/index.html.
It will be a good idea to check it periodically.
- The course will consist of about 14 lectures (of 1.0 - 1.5
hours each) at the rate of 2 lectures per
week. Some weeks might have 3 lectures to make up for any lost slots.
- There will be two take-home assignment sets and perhaps some
unannounced class tests (quizzes) and one final examination which will be
used for evaluating the course.
- The evaluation procedure is the following: Your final average
score will be
computed giving 30% weightage to final exam, 30% to each of the two assignments
and 10% for class room participation.
- In order to be able to take the final exam, you need to attend at least 11 of the 14 lectures (80%).
- You need to score more than 40% to pass the course.
