
The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) at Pune, India invites applications for Faculty Positions.
Research activities at NCRA are centered on low frequency radio astronomy, where the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) is a major international facility. Apart from pursuing a vigorous research program, faculty members at NCRA are expected to spend about half of their time on other supporting activities which include teaching of graduate courses, overseeing common facilities, GMRT operations, instrumentation development and user support. Applicants from other areas of astronomy having potential synergy with the profile at NCRA are encouraged to apply, as are those with special technical skills.
Applications with a curriculum vitae and names of three or more referees should be sent to the Centre Director, NCRA, Pune University Campus, Pune 411 007, India. While applications are invited throughout the year, they will be screened and processed two or three times a year. Entry level faculty members get a salary in the pay scale of INR 15600-39100 (total monthly emoluments, approximately INR 40,000/- ) and are also entitled to on-campus housing (subject to availability) and health care benefits. Candidates with appropriate experience can be considered for higher levels.
